The mid 2009 white MacBook has the same chipset as the late 2008 aluminum MacBook. Aside from Apple restricting the mid 2009 white MacBook via intentionally crippling firmware, why wouldn't it be able to support 8 GB RAM?
Oh yeah, you may be right! Maybe there's just no one hacked the firmware yet (or bothered to, or can't...)

Who really thought another iPad would come out this year...i mean honestly?
Exactly. Like Apple would call 2011 the year of the iPad 2 and come out with the iPad 3 the same year? duh.

No longer supported means never patched or upgraded again no matter the reason.
A lot of people, like me, just think that Apple should support their devices about a year after they have last been sold. The iPhone 3G was sold in a lot of countries until August it received its last update in November merely three months after it was discontinued. Hey, the standard warranty everywhere is one year.
They had done so with the original iPhone (though one could argue that the large gap between the 2.2.1 release in January 2009 and the 3.0 release in June already meant that support ended in effect in January, and that no security fixes were offered for a six month period neither for the original iPhone or the iPhone 3G that was the flagship during these six months).

Phil Schiller is such a bad presenter.
And yes, you are seeing a transfer of power here - whether Steve is sick only he knows I guess.
Got me worried too.
Phil had to go on stage for the Mac Pro....? Bertrand for the Vista bashing? The other guy for the Leopard demo?
Is Steve too ill or tired to do the whole keynote by himself, or does he want to put others forward.... dunno. Worrying, IMHO. :(

You don't have depth perception?
Quite a few people don't have good depth perception, or none at all.
People with unequal strength eyes will oftentimes grow up without much depth perception, to no ill effect.

If you don't like the rules of your job, then quit. Otherwise suffer the consequences.
too bad 3 people will have to die in a chinese jail to protect apple's trade secrets (or rather, secrets that were intended to be revealed a few months later)

A problem. He should have called the police if there was no other way to extricate himself.
Assuming he had a phone with him, and didn't have to risk personal harm by leaving the vehicle.
Driving at 100mph with someone clinging to the front of the car is simply not an acceptable option.
True, in the absence of a phone, I would have driven very slowly to a police station, and ask for her to be removed.
An inconvenience.
Unlawful confinement?? :p

Same here! My AT&T contract ends on my birthday that week too! :D
Nice :D
My AT&T contract ended a long time ago. I simply sell my old iPhone Jailbroken and unlocked on eBay for roughly $400, leaving a difference of roughly $200 for the ~$600 unsubsidized iPhone. No contract means I can say "SAYONARA" to AT&T™ at any time if they decide on screwing over their customers even more.
Riiiight. Because the iPhone launches every FALL, not summer. Hey the iPad 2 is coming out in June! And then another iPad, the iPad 3 is coming in the fall too!
False.
You guys do realize apple has been designing this phone for probably a year and a half at this point right?
WADR, the sarcastic and condescending tone in comments such as above irk me and so many on MacRumors. "False"? "Riiiight?" Are we adults or play school children? Is it really necessary to claim to know exactly what Apple plans on doing so much so that you write statements of such finite veracity that assumes the receiver is ignorant to what you are apparently privy?
Forgive me for the commentary, but those of us who have been on here either reading news or currently commenting in threads are growing weary of the increasing disrespect amongst some members. Tone is difficult to read, keeping that in mind respond to others as though they were complete strangers, with respect and decency. Thank you.

Today I came down off the 11" high a little bit .... I still have access to the 11" in our office so I decided to work on it again today.
I started the day working on a small text only instruction manual for a product, then I took a few photo's with my camera, edited them and inserted the into the manual.
...
I agree with your comments for the most part. I still love the 11" form factor but the 13" really does everything necessary and does everything better than the 11" except fit in a smaller case. I'm going to wait for the rumored June upgrade. If the 11" gains storage and battery life along with a faster processor I might get it then. If it's only a processor upgrade than I'll likely stay with the 13".

What other location data is Apple collecting from the iPhone besides crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower data?
Apple is now collecting anonymous traffic data to build a crowd-sourced traffic database with the goal of providing iPhone users an improved traffic service in the next couple of years.
Apple told Congress that the GPS info to "analyze traffic patterns and density" (which I too, originally took to be about signals, not navigation) is only sent to Apple every 12 hours. Hardly realtime data.
So right now, it could simply be data collected as test info to help developers more realistically simulate traffic during code testing.
