There has been much talk about this "True" Video iPod. Isn't there already a Video iPod? What makes it True vs. Fake. I know there have been rumors and Photoshop mockups on what others think should be the True Video iPod and they show patents that Apple file. But I am not sure I want to replace the Scrool Wheel with a touch screen, I do like having tactile feedback on where my hand is, as well you can really smuge up the screen you are looking at, and it is easy to loose that little stylist. While I am waiting for a Core 2 Duo Mac Book Pro and I may get an iPod for me at the same time. I am not sure what we would be really missing with the true video iPod except for shorter battery life and a smugged screen.

The current "iPod Video" wasn't ever intended for video, it was "adapted" from previous generation iPods to be able to show video. But screen size (as many users have noted throughout it's existance) makes it an "eh" choice for watching movies or TV shows.
Not to mention, your "smudged screen" senario? You've obviously never used a touch screen before. They don't smudge, unless your hands are dirty.

PowerMac G5's are awesome but they are also getting old, so unless you REALLY need to save the money, get a Mac Mini.
NO you can't upgrade the graphics card in it and no you can't have 3 hard drives and all that stuff. However, the new Mini will still be much better for just about anything you'd want to do with that G5.
As much as I love them, they are old, and, they are really showing their age.

Yes. I was in the airport and saw a guy walk by and I was about to stop him and yell "How the hell did you get the new iPod Shuffle already?!?!" but then I noticed the extra wire comming out of the bottom of it and going into his bag. Oh yeah, it's a remote. :o

What other location data is Apple collecting from the iPhone besides crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot and cell tower data?
Apple is now collecting anonymous traffic data to build a crowd-sourced traffic database with the goal of providing iPhone users an improved traffic service in the next couple of years.
Apple told Congress that the GPS info to "analyze traffic patterns and density" (which I too, originally took to be about signals, not navigation) is only sent to Apple every 12 hours. Hardly realtime data.
So right now, it could simply be data collected as test info to help developers more realistically simulate traffic during code testing.

I am sure it will be a great read and I am anticipating it's release. Although, in my mind I probably want to prefer the "Pirates of Silicon Valley" version of things in my mind. Love that movie!

I really believe that Apple is going to arrogantly keep to their same slow update cycle despite switching to Intel. This means we probably won't see Core 2 Duo and better GPUs in MacBook /MacBook Pros / mini until MacWorld SF 2007.
Apple really misses the boat by not having up-to-date new product available before the holiday buying season.
The way I see it, we don't know why Apple hasn't released an upgraded MBP. As quickly as they upgraded the iMac I feel like there's a good reason for the delay.
I'm not being blindly cavalier here...just going on what we've been seeing from them lately--their marketing people are far from stupid. It's easy to draw conclusions based on assumptions, especially when the silence from Cupertino is deafening. But I still bet there's a good reason.
Plus...they still have plenty of time before the holiday buying season.
If, when Apple finally does release the C2D MBP, it is a simple swapped processor, no revisions or other upgrades, I will stand corrected. :)

Cingular is awesome. I get service everywhere.
Cingular sucks. They were better when they were Pacific Bell here in southern California. After that their service just dropped exponentially in quality.
I hate them, I could not get service at my house and at my office. Forget it man. I don't want ever be their customer again.

not the first time i've seen overlays, the commodore 64 had a music keyboard overlay.
would oled keys not be a lot better such as the ones used on the optimus keyboard concepts??

Maybe this new Firmware will work with Vista now that it's gone Gold and Apple knows it's final boot issues.
Don't think bootcamp currently works with Vista because of EFI limitations.

I really hate my state's stupid beer laws. The cap on beer is 5%, which cuts out a lot of great beers. Thankfully, I have friends and relatives in other states where I can get said beers. :)

Makes sense. That's probably one of the biggest uses of the ATV and Apple doesn't get a cut of that action.
That being said, Netflix inclusion is the only reason I bought the ATV2. If they cut Netflix, I'll by another product.

Just to repeat (since it's worth repeating), "glasses-free 3D" is a misleading term here, since the function provided by the addition of head-tracking is not a function normally facilitated by 3D glasses.
The demo does not produce the illusion that any of the pixels exist on a plane other than the surface of the display (unless you close one eye or otherwise curtail your depth perception).

I agree with all of these posts about pricing. My suggestion: stop buying stuff...or start pirating again. THAT seems to get their attention. All price point talk is irrelevant to them...they dont care how unhappy we are - unless we force them to change.

Phil Schiller is a terrible presenter, perhaps he's a nice bloke.
Watching it in the UK at around 11.30pm last night, it quit out after about half an hour, and the quality was a little choppy before then.
Why did they decide to present the MacPro before the OSX leopard stuff? Maybe cos they didn't want to wheel Phil Schiller on at the end?
With regards to Jobs looking ill, lets face it, he works hard, and he's knocking on a bit now. Must have been a pretty hectic period shifting over to a different chip.
