It's hit and miss, I have a iPod car charger which works with my iPhone 4 the majority of the time, sometimes it says charging isn't compatible, I just take it out and plug it back in and it works. However I used to have a home charger that wouldn't charge it at all. Best to get "Works with iPhone or Made for iPhone" chargers.

I haven't seen this news anywhere else.

    http://3anime.com/apple-ipad-2-jailbreak-on-ios-4-3-1-now-possible-with-pwnagetool/3426

Its good news for those who updated their Apple iPad 2 and iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3.1. The download of the PwnageTool is now ready for those who want to jailbreak their devices now. It has been a long wait for consumers as they waited for the Apple iPad 2 Jailbreak since Apple announced a iOS 4.3.1 that will break the vulnerability to unlock the iPad 2. PwnageTool is the latest jailbreak from the Dev-team with the help of DjayB6 on iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak bundle and Universal Ramdisk Fixer. All iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch under the firmware iOS 4.3.1 can now be successfully jailbroken. We have the easy guide on how to do the Apple iPad 2 Jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1 using PwnageTool. Again this is a tethered jailbreak!

Here we have the quick steps on how to with with the Apple iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1:
Step 1: Download PwnageTool bundle (includes Universal Ramdisk Fixer) for your version of iOS device. Extract the .zip folder, in there you will find a .bundle file, for this guide, we are using iPhone 4 bundle iPhone3,1_4.3.1_8G4.bundle. Move this file to your desktop.
Step 2: Download PwnageTool 4.2 and copy it to /Applications directory. Right click, and then click on Show Package Contents
Step 3: Navigate to Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles/ and paste iPhone3,1_4.3.1_8G4.bundle file in this location.
Step 4: Download Universal Ramdisk Fixer (part of the PwnageTool bundle package that you downloaded in Step 1 above) and simply install it as shown in the screenshots below. This is important because Ramdisk in the current version of PwnageTool is broken. This Universal Ramdisk Fixer basically patches it correctly for iOS 4.3.1 firmware
Step 5: Download iOS 4.3.1 firmware. Move this file to your desktop
Step 6: Start PwnageTool in Expert mode and select your device
Step 7: Browse for iOS 4.3.1 firmware for your device
Step 8: Now select Build to start creating custom 4.3.1 firmware file
Step 9: PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone which will be jailbroken.
Step 10: Now follow the following steps to enter DFU mode using PwnageTool
Step 11: Start iTunes, click on your iOS device icon from the sidebar in iTunes. Now press and hold left alt (option) button on Mac, or Left Shift button if you are on Windows on the keyboard and then click on Restore (Not Update or Check for Update) button in the iTunes and then release this button.
Step 12: iTunes will be doing most of the work in this step. Your iOS device screen at this point will be showing a progress bar indicating installation progress. After the installation is done, your iOS device will be jailbroken on iOS 4.3.1.

And there you have it, a tethered iOS 4.3.1 Apple iPad 2 Jailbreak! Good luck!

You have to save the disk image to another drive other than the one your are making an image of. You can't copy something onto itself. In other words, you need a second hard drive or another partician to save to.

No one really knows for sure, but the timeframe for an update is relatively narrow. If you go by the 6-month update rule, the iBook would get its update in November.

The latest we're likely to see an update (and rumours have suggested it to be more likely) is at MacWorld San Francisco, in early January. If this is what happens, it's very likely that the next iBook model will be a substantial redesign, and not just a speed-bump. Among some of the more interesting rumours have been that there would be a 13" screen in the current 12" case size, that the lineup will move to G4s like the iMac did, and (the most fanciful of them all) we'll see the current 14" iBook replaced with a 14" widescreen model.

No matter what happens, hold on to your money if you want to get the most out of a new iBook; the iBook 700 we have now is great, but it could be the end of its generation.

Hi. My old VHS is slowly giving up the ghost and so we have decided to move with the times and get one of those DVD/HDD recorder things. The problem is that we have a stack of store bought videos that my kids still want to watch. I'm not looking to start a pirate movie business but I think it fair for me to copy those movies over to DVD for personal use. Does anyone have any suggestions or links that can help? Cheers in advance. :)

You can use CSS to hide the scroll bars (overflow:hidden), then use JavaScript to set the scroll amount on the iframe. I'll let you search on that as I don't really have the time for it.

But, if you liked the story, and creepy pacing and atmosphere from the first one, BS2 was not as good.

    Right on the money! :)

Though, it could just be the fact that experiencing Rapture for the first time in BioShock 1 was so amazing, it was kind of impossible for BioShock 2 to live up to it. But really, it was a good game. If you find it on sale anywhere, it is still very worth playing.

It's not a matter of money, really - the game's cheap enough in most stores already. Mostly a matter of time. Though I do also find it hard to justify spending money on something, which I feel I "basically" already own. Bioshock is all the Rapture experience I need.

well found out why backup power didn't come on.

for some odd reason the power and natural gas lines got cut, backup is by natural gas

That's a real bummer. Someone made a huge mistake. Not the first or last the a contractor was in error. This kind of thing seems to happen a lot in Massachusetts. It's lucky that a fire was averted. Any idea how long the fix will take?

I currently have an iPod touch (MB model) running 4.0 firmware, jailbroken using JailbreakMe.com by Comex. I want to try jailbreaking 4.1 using greenp0ison so I can get game center (I am aware of the ways to get gamecenter on 4.0, and i can't stand the outcome). So if I were to do so, and copy my "/" folder on my iPod to my computer before the re-jailbreak, would I be able to revert back to exactly as it is now if i dont like the greenp0ison jailbreak? I am not sure, but I think restoring from itunes removes all jailbroken apps, including cydia. Tell me if i'm wrong there, as i think i might be.

In the great wealth, the great firmament of this forum's generosity, the particular choice may perhaps be found by future generations as a trifle eccentric, but the mere fact of it -- the prodigal, pure, human kindness of it -- must be seen as a beautiful star in that firmament which shines upon me at this moment.

Wow, how long did it take for you to come up with that speech?

Sorry for the slow reply, was doing a bit of spider removal.

Viewing angles on most IPS panels should be around 178 degrees. One thing to consider is, are you going to be looking at it from an unusual angle? Most people I know look at monitors from the front! :D

Only direction you'll notice real degradation in picture quality on an IPS is vertically and that won't be an issue, unless you're freakishly tall and you like your monitor at your ankles.

I used to worry a lot about similar things but once I'd researched it realised that there doesn't seem to be a huge amount of difference until you start spending lots and lots of money, and at that point it'll be past the stage of diminishing returns for average computer users.

I'd want a 17" or 15" HiRes ideally. But the weight is a killer. I drag this laptop around on my motorcycle, hanging off in my backpack, full of gym crap in it. The MBA is literrally "a load off my back". Of course, my Targus backpack has **** for restraints and bad ergonomics to begin with. I need to look into a better bag.

I was referring to a 13" MBP of course. If the OP is looking at the MBA, I assumed he'd compare it to that model and not the 15" or even a 17".
Yes, if I traveled more than I do or take it on my bike like you do, a MBA is the machine. Very attractive for many reasons. Still might get one to play with one day. Might replace the iPad downstairs for casual use. I don't take my MBP around as much as I thought I would so I probably should have gotten the 17".

My apologies on the model mix up. I did remember about the res differences. Thanks.

A note to the OP: try a 13" out real good in the stores or a friends. I myself could not look at lines of code for days on end squinting at a 13". But some more experienced programmers may not agree and the 13" price might be right for you.
