I think driving fast and swerving erratically is a good way to remove a moron from your windshield.Probably a good way to kill someone, probably not the ideal way to deal with an argument, though.

Biggest problem with Veloster: it needs a more powerful engine. Maybe Hyundai will see it fit to install the 173 bhp 2.4-liter I-4 found on the current Kia Forte, which would give the Veloster a needed performance boost. :)

Uhmmm... iTunes is not a part of iLife ;)
Well, it was as of iLife '05. But you're right, they took it out.

Cool. Thanks for contributing something insightful and interesting, MikeELL (unlike some folks--like me).
Heh. Cheers, mate.
I figure if I had as much R&D funding as NASA (perhaps more), these are the kind of things I'd be looking at.
Off topic, but I wonder if these alloys have the potential to be strong enough to build a space elevator. They're currently at about 1.7GPa, which is about the level of high-tensile steel. 62GPa is required for the space elevator (carbon nanotubes have theoretical potentials of 200+ GPa - but no one can get them more than a few centimetres long so far).

All the while the real Big Brother, Google, gets surprisingly little scrutiny from the American press.
Exactly. This whole thing is ridiculous. Both Google and the telecom companies track you, and probably a lot more.

Sosumi99 may be a little over the top here, but is staggers my mind to think any doesn't believe this was out of line nd wrong for Mr. Beeks to say. Clearly when Steve Jobs has a "big announcement" it generates lots of hype and interest - not only in the iPod but for Apple in general. Mr. Beeks has tried to pre-empt Apples splash by pointing it to Lions Gate insted.
No one here "knows" what will happen this year with iPod/iTunes. If they "do", they must know someone who is violating a NDA. We highty suspect and believe what ill happen before the end of this year.
Maybe your mommy will teach you good business and ethics practice.
I don't really think it matters. Lion's Gate does not have the same kinds of "brand recognition" concerns that a company like Apple must address by drawing attention and publicity.
The other thing is that like others have said, this has not been a secret. Everyone knows the movie industry would eventually have to jump on the bandwagon, and this is nothing more than someone finally acknowledging the inevitible.
It isn't like the guy told us the details for the new iPod or something.

I like reading some of these magazines on my iPad. I like the feeling that I am doing something good for the environment, my own little way of saving a tree or two. But paying full cover price makes me feel like I'm being ripped off by the publisher, who didn't have to pay the costs of stock, printing and delivery of the news stand issues. And they want me to punish me and not provide me a realistic subscription price because Apple want their 30% for hosting and distribution? Nay nay I say!

Wow! Removable GPU, The message that I'm getting is it's clearly better to wait, that is if you can for the third or forth generation with anything apple does. It just keeps getting better with time. Removable GPU apple has come a long way.
Apple has been using removable GPU'S for year's. This isn't anything new to the iMac line. Apple has been doing this since the 24 inch core/core2duos iMac models. You where able to swap out a 7300 for a 7600gt. Every model since then has had this ability, but no one has made new upgradeable cards for the iMacs.

I have to disagree. I doubt she was knowingly placing herself in harm's way. Jumping on the hood of a vehicle is dramatic, but I doubt she expected her husband to start driving, much less at speeds of 100 mph. As he started moving, she probably expected him to stop briefly to let her off; instead he just kept driving faster and faster.
Unless she could reasonably foresee her husband driving on the freeway at 100 mph with her still on the hood, then she did not "knowingly place herself in harm's way." And I don't think his actions were reasonably foreseeable by any means.
Besides, let's say for example that Spouse A is holding a gun, and Spouse B jumps in front of the gun to prevent "A" from shooting his/her favorite Ming Dynasty Vase (it's a priceless original, after all). Spouse A shoots anyway, killing Spouse B. ...Who's to blame? Spouse A for pulling the trigger, or Spouse B for protecting their vase? Even if standing in front of a gun is "stupid," I think it hardly fair to hold Spouse B accountable for Spouse A's actions of pulling the trigger.
It simply isn't acceptable to try to kill your wife, and that's exactly what this man did.
If a husband wanted to leave and his wife blocked the car, then you walk. You call a cab, take a bus, call a friend. You don't drive at speeds of 100 mph with her on the hood, unless stopping endangers your life as well (but nothing in the story indicates this to be the case). It's an inexcusable action, regardless of the circumstances.
The guy has some substance abuse problems, so how could she jump on a car and not think she was putting herself in harms way? A rational person might not drive with his wife on the hood, but this guy some history of drugs; which she obviously knows about. Add anger in the mix, and nothing good will come of it.
If the woman was willing to jump on a car, do you really think she would have let him walk away? She would have jumped on the cab, or flagged the bus down. Who knows? He could have made the situation worse by getting out of the car. The point is...he was trying to leave the situation and she wouldn't let him.
The guy is probably going to plead or be found guilty of attempted murder...but if she just let him leave, and stayed off the hood of the darned car, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I love it when Google/Samsung/Sony/Motorola employees create new MacRumors accounts (join date Mar 2011) just to try to propagate garbage like this. Obviously trying to start a new antennagate. If you can't beat them in sales, try to start some bogus stories in the blogs and hope the media picks up on it.
THIS JUST IN: My iPad 2 is absolute fine and its in my hands right now. Anybody else who really has one complaining?
Sorry but that's not the case, created an account just recently to provide my input on this issue on another thread. I am 3 iPads down with problems and still hoping the 4th will arrive with no leakage or dead pixels. I'm glad yours is "absolute fine" but if you do a search or just ask around you will find this is a widespread problem

I'm full of suggestions, if only because I've been through this exercise many times before (I used to belong to another online group that got together at MWSF.) Mass dinners are difficult to organize and problematic. Somebody has to take charge, keep a count and make the reservations -- essential for a large group. Some people won't be able to make it on any given night. Then, even after you get to the restaurant, you only get to talk to the people on either side of you and across the table. Somebody always seems to depart early without leaving enough money to cover their meal. It's just a less than ideal situation all-around, IMO. If meeting other MR members is the objective, I strongly recommend picking one or two times a day on more than one day to gather at the seating areas in South Hall. Agree to mark your badges in some unique way. Smaller more manageable groups will form to go off for lunch, dinner or drinks. This really does work better than trying to get everyone into one restaurant.

Some of the bashing is coming from those who were bashing before the sneak peak and, unless this was truly The Second Coming, were always going to continue bashing. They just like bashing.
Others will be genuinely concerned that FCP X doesn't fit with their way of working. Some will go to Avid. And some of them will return to FCP within a couple of years.
What are the odds of these being included with FCPX? Or are they more likely add-ons through the store? Maybe $150 and 50 respectively.....
I wondered if certain bits of Color, Motion, Soundtrack and perhaps even Compressor and additional bits of FCP 7 might be sold as plug-ins via the App Store. And I'd imagine Apple will start soliciting third-party plug-in developers to make their submission for the Store pretty soon too.

Is it too soon to hope that iWeb will be html5?
not sure about that, I think they always used quicktime for Video
Just to go all conspiracy theory, what about a new MacBook Air and iLife '11? Both are already very late :d
