I took this to mean traffic as in network traffic. iOS devices, and all new smartphones, utilize a lot of network traffic. It wouldn't surprise me if they were looking at more robust ways of utilizing traffic, compression, etc. I'm not sure how they would collect traffic data. I suppose if they see a cell signal sitting in the same place for 20 minutes, it would reflect a traffic jam. But then again, they could have parallel parked and went to go grab a Starbucks.
No, nobody refers to network traffic in that way as it comes to development, projects and jobs.
They are talking about actually road traffic with cars and buses.

wow do iSheep ever think their messiah could be full of it? or do they just take his word as if it were etched in stone on the iPad of God? lifelong Mac user here but not an iSheep. :apple:
Jobs: "You don't need to see the internet or make calls. These aren't the Droids you've been looking for."
iSheep: "Move along."
Uh, I'm no sheep. I'm looking for the REAL technical answer, instead of "well, the doohickey just don't work".
There is a thing called the truth, and I'd like to know it, whatever it may be.
BTW, I still think it was a stupid move not to go with actual gorilla glass on this one, but who knows, maybe it doesn't gel well with apples implementation of touch.

It is when/if they use their power to benefit their own interests instead of that of the nation that a problem exists. When you use your power and influence to send billions of tax dollars to Israel, send other people's children to war in whole or part for Israel or stifle all criticism, both domestic and foreign, of Israel, then there is a problem. Because at that stage the foreign country of Israel owns and manipulates the US government (which should be acting on behalf of and for the American people) for its own self interests.
The same can be said for the media. When you use your power and influence in the media to manipulate and shape the opinions and minds of your viewers to be in the interest of Israel, rather than objectively present the facts and events, then you have a problem.
This isn't necessarily limited to Jews, but involves any group with strong connections to a foreign country, and who may use their influence and power to more benefit the foreign country than the US. In this particular case, the fact that an Israel lobby exists, and that every presidential candidate goes there and gives a speech about how they "love" Israel and are "committed" to Israel prior to an election is a major red flag. Israel is a foreign country after all, looking out for its own interests. It should have little to no influence in the internal politics of the USA.

It's amazing that whatever happens, on this site, it's *never* Apple's fault.
Heck, Apple could be killing innocent children, and peeps on here would blame the children.

Someone always posts something like this when related to the OS. I don't get it.
Maybe you should leave, because I'm pretty sure almost all (substantial) rumours violate some sort of agreement with Apple. Or how did you think we get screenshots of the OS before it's available, descriptions of products before they're available, etc?
I know it happens and there's nothing I can do. But if at some point something critical gets released that really pisses Apple off then we as developers may lose access to this information. Or be forced to pay a much higher price for early access.
Leaking this info doesn't benefit anyone but losing access to the pre-release versions could seriously effect the smaller developers. I just find it pathetic that some people just have no respect for others.

I bet anything that apple will be releasing their phone under T-Mobile. They already have a large base in Europe and the US. Plus the kind of people that will be attracted to the iPhone are probably already attracted to the other phones TMobile offers. Its a perfect match.

I think you can easily make $70-$90/month by flipping burger....
I think he meant some one trying to make a living on a "Burger King" wage could afford that.
You do realize that when you are making a living you have to for a roof over your head, food, heating, transportation to and from work (at least if not to the grocery store too) all of which are more important than a cellphone plan (nevermind a smartphone plan which really is a luxury).
Sure, if that's the only thing they have to pay for they can easily afford the smartphone plan. I know I couldn't afford it if I wasn't splitting it with my roommate (family plan with lowest minutes, extra line, his company gets him a discount for being an employee with them, no texting). Even then with the hours I'm getting I'd probably be better off not having it (I just got so addicted and I'm not quite at that point yet).

hmmm I wonder what Steve celebrates.
I think it should be noted that Kwanzaa is often celebrated by the same people as Christmas. Its is considered to be a cultural celebration designed to allow african-americans or africa-anglos etc to celebrate origins rather then a being a religious festival.
If you think Kwanzaa is made up what would clebrating the 24th of january be then?

If Leopard is released before Vist I won;\'t go near it with a 20 meter cattle prod and even if they gave it away for free. Leopard released that soon would scream revenge of the Tiger launch. Honestly a january lauch of eather Vista or Leopard doesn't serve anyone. For windows they missed the lucrative holiday sales rush and only the after x-mas bargan shoppers are looking to buy in ist quarter. For Apple school sales won't begin for months.
All that a January Leopard launch would prove would be the immaturity of the people running Apple. e.g. Its better to ship an OS that probably has a ton of bugs in it to be able to thumb our collective noses at MS then ship a solid product. IMHO I'm REALLY hoping for a WWDC launch of Leopard.
If Apple releases Leopard before March, it will likely be a mistake. How about version 10.5.-3?

Hmm...I'm so glad I waited! Looks like I'll be saving up for one! Now I'll have all three consoles! WOOT! :D
But really, which would you go with: PS3 with Blu-ray and any kind of hard drive, or a 360 with proprietary hard drive? Personally, I'd go with a PS3.

I agree with you here, I want to order a macbook so bad, but the fact of having shared graphics kills me. I work with photoshop and I would like to have a dedicated graphics card, yet a small screen for travel. I'll buy an external lcd when I need a large screen at home or use my 20" imac.
Me too actually.... i'd get a Macbook too if i could play games decently on it. The integrated graphics card is poo.

WTF difference does it make if there's 50 different SKUs, I simply don't understand why this is even mentioned.

So why is it Apple can say it's OK to leave this tracking "bug" on my iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2.1, and only fix the iPhone 3GS and 4?
It's not a "tracking" bug, it's a security hole and Apple can say it's OK because they are not obligated in any way to fix bugs on discontinued and unsupported devices.

I am glad that my sentiment reflects the majority on here.
If this is really what is about to be revealed, its not really that much of a big deal and most wont use it (except out of curiosity).
I appreciate the whole SJ henry ford quote and all, but his is really an unusable concept for the majority that like to be in control.
My opinion.
I agree - if this new cloud merely gives online storage to iTunes-purchased music, then this is not very exciting.
However...
1. I'm betting that the online storage of iTunes-purchased songs will be a free service, and will be in addition to the copy you download as you always have.
2. I'm betting that - despite the majority of opposing opinions - that you will also be able to upload some of your non-iTunes purchased music, and that a certain amount of space, like a few gigs, will be free.
3. I'm betting that iDisk will be a part of this (although it will likely be re-branded) and, therefore, you will be able to use some of that free space to upload documents.
I guess my point is that I think/hope Apple will be offering at least a little more than you mentioned and, more importantly, the "basic plan" will be free of charge.

i would RATHER row for Dartmouth than be caught dead any where near the rusted gates of Princeton, myes... As a resident student at the fine university of San Francisco State, I must say that the idea of Princeton getting good publicity is highly dubious... indubitably...
seriously people, does it matter where we go to school? does it say anything about us? well, yes, it does i suppose, but anyone so self centered or insecure that they need to project their own self worth off of that where they study is a very unfortunate person...
sorry for the rant, g5 powerbooks and iphones tuesday.

I just did a clean install of ios 4.3.3 and the lock screen and other animations are very smooth! Reminds me of 4.2.1 all over again. I also have restrictions enabled and have disabled itunes, youtube, facetime and ping (none of these features are necessary for me), but this update seems to improve UI animations...good luck!

So lets see more MR member piercing pics, you know you have them and want to show us :)
Just be very careful. Continue proper hygiene. The erythematous tissue at your temple is very evident. Meaning red with slight swelling. Just be careful there are a lot of blood vessels in the area and it can be serious.

I am kind of over the whole Will it blend thing because pretty much everything does. My question is what kind of drink are you blending that requires a blender strong enough to be able to blend an iPad?
Anyone own one of these blenders? I find it hard to justify spending $400 on one.
